ABOUT JET WINE BAR Jill Weber opened Jet in November of 2010. Jill is an archaeologist since 1992, who spent over 15 years working in Syria, and Armenia, Turkey, Oman, and now Iraq and Italy - and eating and drinking her way around the Middle East. Jill opened Jet to fill the need for wines from beyond the typical countries, regions, and grapes – and to counter the elite snobbery then surrounding wine drinking. Since 2010, Jet has emerged as a neighborhood hub, warmly welcoming our diverse clientele on rapidly changing South Street West.
GLOBAL WINE BAR CONCEPT Since our opening in 2010, we have championed wines from lesser-known regions and from less-typical grapes. We are Philly’s primary source for Ancient World Wines – those from the first countries to produce and consume wine.
Jet’s culinary concept revolves around international fare to pair with our global wine list, as well as more approachable local cuisine with unconventional wine pairings.
